Carnies,Cotton Candy and Crying Toddlers
So the carnival has come to Cookeville this past few weeks and was a nice little surpise as I really wasn't expecting it this year.
Kaden is now 3 and absolutetly loved the fair last year, thats all he talked about ever since it left last Aug, so needless to say once he heard that we were going to take him to the carnival this past week he wouldn't stop yammering about going.
This year they posted the event in the parking lot of our old abandoned mall parking lot south of town, its usually been held in Tenneesee Tech's parking lot but I suppose something happened and they had to relocate. Not a bad choice either, it was kinda small this year which was fine with me, means less walking.
I arrived later in the afternoon to find my son on an airplane ride with my mom, as soon as he saw Mom and I his face exploded with a smile and he started to explain his experience so far to us as he rotated in the air waving his hands and pointing at the other rides he rode. We just stood there smiling as he continued to fly and talk, lol.
It was an all you can ride night with a purchase of the arm band and at 20 bucks not a terrible deal, specially if you had little children. Though I lucked out. You see almost every ride was operated by immigrants who couldnt speak english and they never checked your arm band. So I was able to take little man on all the rides he wanted and I save 20 bucks...its not stealing its being fruggal in a recession!
We later met up with my a few more friends and my bro-law and his family came which was great as he had his little girl with them and once she saw Kaden they were off to go riding.
As ethusiastic as she was about riding, unfortunatlelty she wouldnt get on any rides, kaden didnt seem to mind as he tugged at my hand and drug me to every ride he could get on.
As the night drew on he became ill tempered and we left, went off to eat and called it a night. All in all I was glad I was there and was able to spend this time with my family. I feel blessed to have such a great wife and child.
